‘KAOS’ CANCELED AFTER ONE SEASON AT NETFLIX10/08/24 @ 11:25 am EST
Source: Variety | Categories: MIsc | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment“Kaos,” the Greek mythology comedy series that premiered in late August, has been canceled at Netflix, Variety is reporting. The show premiered on August 29 and starred Jeff Goldblum as the all-mighty Zeus, albeit in a more whimsical and insecure portrayal. In a modern-day setting, Zeus has chained up Prometheus after interfering with his godly rule over humanity. Prometheus then attempts to overthrow Zeus with the help of three humans, Eurydice, Ariadne and Caeneus. Charlie Covell (“The End of the F***ing World”) wrote the entire eight-episode series. The show did spend four weeks in the Netflix top 10 charts upon its release, but failed to garner a significant audience in that time. It peaked at number three on the English language TV chart in its second week of availability.
NEW CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD TRAILER11/10/24 @ 11:56 am EST
Source: YouTube | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentWe’re just three months from the February 14th release of
Captain America: Brave New World and Marvel Studios has released a new trailer while at D23 Expo Brazil. The film features
Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, and
Harrison Ford taking over the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, the new American President. The film is a return to the thriller feel that made Captain America: The Winter Soldier such a hit and shows us a building international story that brings together the long missing Samuel Sterns aka the Leader (
Tim Blake Nelson) and answers the question of what’s going on with the giant Celestial sticking up out of the ocean from the
Eternals. A spiritual sequel to the 2008 Incredible Hulk, the film not only brings back Ross and Sterns but will also bring back Betty Ross (
Liv Tyler) and introduce us to the Red Hulk. The movie also stars
Shira Haas,
Xosha Roquemore,
Carl Lumbly,
Giancarlo Esposito, and
Danny Ramirez.
NEW THUNDERBOLTS* TRAILER FEEDS SPECULATION ABOUT TASKMASTER11/10/24 @ 11:41 am EST
Source: YouTube | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentMarvel released a new clip and trailer for the upcoming
Thunderbolts* film which includes a scene that has Red Guardian (
David Harbour), Yelena (
Florence Pugh), John Walker (
Wyatt Russell) and Ghost (
Ava Starr) traveling in a red limousine through the desert when a convoy of military vehicles start shooting at them. The convoy is then attacked by Bucky (
Sebastian Stan) who takes them out easily and then he takes out the limo as well. From there we see that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (
Julia Loius-Dreyfus) and the CIA are the ones who bought Avengers Tower, which she’s quite pleased with. We see a lot of action, most of which makes Bucky look bad-ass, but the one thing that people are talking about is just how little Taskmaster (
Olga Kurylenko) appears in the scenes, leading speculation that the character may end up being killed off pretty early or she isn’t actually part of the team. The film will be in theaters May 2nd, 2025.

VILLENEUVE RESPONDS TO TARANTINO'S DUNE COMMENTS11/09/24 @ 1:29 pm EST
Source: Deadline | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentTalking on his own podcast a few weeks back, director
Quentin Tarantino said he had no interest in watching
Denis Villeneuve’s Dune adaptations and used them as an example of Hollywood’s constant remaking of films to mitigate financial risk. “I saw [David Lynch’s original adaptation of] ‘Dune’ a couple of times. I don’t need to see that story again. I don’t need to see spice worms. I don’t need to see a movie that says the word ‘spice’ so dramatically.” Well, it turns out that Villeneuve is unfazed by critics of his work, especially those who haven’t seen it. He told the
Montreal Gazette, “I don’t care. It’s true. I agree with him that I don’t like this idea of recycling and bringing back old ideas. But where I disagree is that what I did was not a remake. It’s an adaptation of the book. I see this as an original.” Villeneuve has a good point at what is considered a remake as opposed to a new adaptation. If the source material began existence as a movie, then you are remaking it. But if the source material is a novel or comic and you return to that material to create a new film… you are doing a new adaptation of that work. The films
I Am Legend (2007),
The Omega Man (1971) and
The Last Man on Earth (1964) are all based on the novel
I Am Legend by
Richard Matheson, but none are considered remakes of the others.
NICHOLAS HOULT TALKS THE EMOTIONAL BLOWS OF BATMAN AND SUPERMAN11/09/24 @ 12:25 pm EST
Source: Happy Sad Confused Podcast | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentCould you imagine getting the opportunity to audition for both Batman and Superman and not getting either part? That’s what
Nicholas Hoult went through before being cast as Lex Luthor in the upcoming
Superman movie. Hoult, who played Hank McCoy in the later
X-Men films was a schedule to audition for
Matt Reeves film when, “I remember a week before we did the Batman test, I was driving in my car and I had the radio on and they were talking on the radio about how Rob was going to be the new Batman. And I was like, ‘It’s not confirmed yet! I’m auditioning next weekend. Like, give me a chance.’” Hoult talked about the emotional experience while a guest on the
Happy Sad Confused podcast. “Your imagination does not know … you are aware on a practical level: ‘I know I am auditioning against Rob.’ And Rob is fantastic in that movie. That was the right decision. But you get excited by the prospect. Matt [Reeves] is a fantastic director and the script. It’s a cool movie and I want to be a part of it. It’s a brilliant character. There’s a weird period before you can get to the acceptance and see the movie and be like that was the right choice, you go through the period of ‘what could I have done different? Why not me?’ You run through all those things.” Hoult would then audition for and lose out on the role of Superman for James Gunn, but Gunn was aware of the situation. Hoult explained, “James Gunn is such a fantastic director and I was so excited by what he was building at DC. When we spoke…because they knew I had been through [the Batman] process, they didn’t want me to necessarily have to go through that again. That was very kind of them. There was an element of them being like, ‘We like you as an actor. We want you to be in this world.’”
NO, HBO IS NOT DEVELOPING A JOKER SERIES11/09/24 @ 12:05 pm EST
Source: Threads | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentWith the buzz about
The Penguin going strong leading into the finale, scoopers are posting a lot of tidbits about
The Batman 2 and other potential spinoff series in the works. But you should take those posts with a truckload of salt as the majority of them are just clickbait. Ina recent interview, Penguin star
Colin Farrell said that he knew nothing about
the Batman sequel and the only definitive word on him appearing at all in it came from director/writer
Matt Reeves who said that
the Penguin series will lead right into the sequel and that Oz Cobb will be in it. Nothing about how much or if he’s the big bad. And while Reeves recently said there are talks about other series they can do with HBO/Max, nothing official has been announced. A new rumor floating around the last few days claims that
Barry Keoghan lead Joker series was in the works and that he would be the main villain for a third Batman film. Keoghan appeared briefly in The Batman as the Joker though the majority of his scenes were cut, he is the voice trying to befriend the Riddler at the end of the film. Keoghan has also said he knows nothing of the plans for his character and co-head of DC Studios,
James Gunn, just took to social media to debunk the rumor all together saying definitively that there is no Joker series in the works.
