EMBRACE YOUR INNER VENOM WITH KID VENOM'S FIRST SOLO SERIES
12/22/23 @ 2:30 pm EST
Source: Marvel | Categories: Venom | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment

KID VENOM’s future in the Marvel Universe is here! Following his debut in Death of the Venomverse, acclaimed manga creator Taigami continues his vision of KID VENOM in an a four-issue solo comic book series this April. Earlier this year, readers saw the birth of a new symbiote legend in the pages of the Death of the Venomverse series. Set in 10th century Japan, the story told of a young hero named Kintaro who protected his village from mysterious symbiote attacks by embracing a symbiote of his very own! As he bonded himself to a new symbiote entity dubbed Clinter, Kintaro embraced his wild new abilities as Kid Venom! Now, witness Kid Venom’s journey take a dramatic turn deeper into the Marvel mythos when he crosses over into present day 616 this April! JAPAN, 977. Kid Venom has made his presence known to the evil symbiotes taking people and creatures hostage…but who else has their eye on Kintaro and his symbiote? Witness the world of Kid Venom expand as new characters and dangers are revealed! On introducing this character to the Marvel Universe, Taigami said: “It is an honor. I was a big fan of the Marvel Universe since I was in school, so this feels unreal that the characters and the stories that I came up with are in that Universe, and I still can’t believe it! “Kid Venom was based on a one shot that I sent for a manga contest Shonen Magazine and Marvel held in 2018. One of the rules for the contest was [to use a theme or a character from Marvel and write and draw a first episode for a new series], and the theme that I chose was symbiote. “The next thing that I thought was who would be the best host for a symbiote. There were already many Venoms and there were enough variations, so I thought it had be something totally new to be recognized. In Japan, there are several famous folklores such as ‘Momotaro’ and ‘Urashimataro.’ Among them, there is a story of ‘Kintaro.’ The legend is about a boy who was strong, living with his mother in Mount Ashigara. He later was hired by Minamoto Yorimitsu, a very high ranked samurai and defeats many yokai. Later he becomes one of the four samurais of Minamoto Yorimitsu. This story is a mix of folklore and a historical story from the Heian Era of Japan. So when I mixed Symbiote to the legend of Kintaro, ‘Kid Venom’ was born.” Like other major Marvel launches, KID VENOM #1 will have a special FOIL VARIANT COVER. Check out the piece below by artist Gerardo Sandoval’s and see KID VENOM unleash his full symbiote strength this April! If fans missed the start of this new symbiote saga, all four KID VENOM chapters from Death of the Venomverse will be collected in KID VENOM: ORIGINS #1, on sale January 3!

Today Skybound and Image Comics, in partnership with global children’s book publisher AMEET, announced the graphic novel release of LEGO® NINJAGO®: STRIKE OF THE SERPENTINE.

The new graphic novel from rising stars Cameron Chittock (Mapmakers, TMNT x Stranger Things) and Will Morris (Gospel) will be available everywhere books are sold in February 2026. New and longtime fans of the LEGO NINJAGO saga can expect to uncover the secret history of the fan-favorite Spinjitzu brothers with familiar faces and shocking first appearances in this new collaboration between the LEGO Group and Skybound.

"Working on STRIKE OF THE SERPENTINE might be the most fun I've ever had playing with LEGO content, which is an incredibly high bar to clear!” said Cameron Chittock. “I am so excited for NINJAGO fans to experience this story, meet new characters, and see each page of Will Morris's epic art."

"It's been a joy to journey alongside Wu, Strike and Co. as the elemental 'master' of ink,” said Will Morris. “I hope this adventure inspires readers to imagine many more exploits for this merry band of heroes."

Wu and Garmadon are champions of Ninjago, but until now, both Spinjitzu brothers have followed their own paths. When whispers of war with the Serpentine clans emerge, these two must brave unexpected threats and bring together the mighty heroes known as the Elemental Masters!

"Ninjago fans have always wanted a deeper dive into the Serpentine War, and STRIKE OF THE SERPENTINE is a bigger and bolder story than anything we've done before," said Nachie Marsham, Senior Editor at Skybound. "More characters, more powers, more adventure, it's gonna blow people away!"

LEGO NINJAGO: STRIKE OF THE SERPENTINE is the result of an unparalleled collaboration between AMEET, Skybound, and the LEGO Group’s LEGO NINJAGO transmedia team that connects the graphic novels with the TV show and product line.

Mark Millar, John Romita Jr. Team for 'Psychic Sam' Comic, Movie

The Kick-Ass team is getting back together, with prolific comic book scribe Mark Millar and artist John Romita Jr. reteaming for the new comic book Psychic Sam.

The book launches on Kickstarter today, and centers on a man who knows about murders before they happen, with a voice in his head telling him the name and address of future killers.

“It’s about a guy with a big gun who goes out and solves problems. He hears voices in his head that tell him to kill bad guys,” Millar said. “The only trouble is, the bad guys haven’t done anything yet. But every time he ignores it, someone innocent dies. It’s only a matter of time before the bodies pile up.”

Millar and Romita struck gold 15 years ago with Kick-Ass. Now, the pair hope to repeat the success, with producer Ivan Atkinson coming aboard to develop Psychic Sam as a feature film. Atkinson is known for his work with Guy Ritchie, producing films such as The Gentlemen and Wrath of Man.

With the Kickstarter now live, Millar and Romita are offering a number of incentives, including the chance to be drawn into the book. (via The Hollywood Reporter)
THE MCU ROLE DAVID TENNANT HAD HOPE TO GET

If you’re creating a list of the best villains in the MCU, there’s a good chance you’re going to include Kilgrave as played by former Doctor Who alum David Tennant. The mind-controlling menace was the main villain in Jessica Jones season one and helped set the series as a fan favorite among the Marvel Television offerings. But there is another character in the MCU that Tennant would liked to have portrayed, something he revealed this weekend at the MCM Comic Con in London, telling the audience. “In terms of superheroes, I don’t know, I did slightly have my eye on Reed Richards, and unfortunately, it looks like they’ve gone in a different direction, although if it has to be someone, I’m happy for it to be Pedro Pascal, frankly.” He went on to say why he’d want to be Mr. Fantastic, “I would have quite liked to be Reed Richards, I’d quite like to be able to do all that,” he then mimics using Reed’s stretching ability and made marching sound effects. “So I’ll stick with that even though it’s gone, even though it’s gonna be a while before there’s another go at that, I think, unfortunately. I think Pedro Pascal is great. I’m very, very pleased that he exists.”Tennant
SANDERSON MOVING ALONG ON THIRD MISTBORN ERA

Prolific fantasy writer Brandon Sanderson has multiple successful series including the Mistborn and Stormlight Archive sagas, both part of his Cosmere arc of inter-connected novels. He was also tasked with finishing Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series after Jordan’s passing. The author has announced that there will be a third era for his Mistborn series, to be called the Ghostbloods Trilogy, that will take place 50-70 years after Wax & Wayne. Sanderson plans to start on the third book this year and will complete all three books prior to publishing the first. The Mistborn series is based on a universe where certain people are born with the ability to digest metals to unlock superhuman abilities. It’s a unique and interesting way to create powers for characters and leads to some very unlikely heroes and villains. Sanderson has also dived into the world of comics with his original graphic novel series White Sands from Dynamite Entertainment. Mistborn
THERE'S SOMETHING MISSING FROM LILO & STITCH

If you saw the new live-action Lilo & Stitch film this weekend you may have noticed a character missing from the original animation version. Captain Gantu of the Galactic Federation is no where to be seen and according to director Dean Fleischer Camp, this was to “free up real estate”. He told Cinema Blend, “Gantu was one of those things that just didn’t work so well in live action. We explored it a bit, but ultimately, we had to make the decision. And also, I do stand by the decision, because I feel like a lot of the things that, in trying to ground these characters more and tell a story with a little more emotional depth, especially between the sisters. I feel like you have to free up real estate to allow that breathing room to do those things.” Gantu, originally voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, was the one trying to apprehend Stitch.Lilo & Stitch

AMAZON MOVES ON FROM WHEEL OF TIME AFTER 3 SEASONS

Source: Deadline | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment
Prime Video has officially canceled The Wheel of Time after three seasons. The series was based on a fantasy book series written by Robert Jordan, later completed by Brandon Sanderson after Jordan's passing. The series consists of 14 main books and a prequel, set in a richly detailed world where magic, prophecy, and epic battles shape the fate of civilizations. The decision to not continue was primarily financial, despite the show being well-received creatively. The third season, which concluded on April 17, 2025, was praised as the best yet, but declining viewership and high production costs led Amazon to pull the plug. The season finale was designed to provide some closure, but fans are still disappointed that the series won’t continue.Wheel of Time
SUPERMAN TRAILER CAUSE MANDELA EFFECT
05/24/25 @ 11:50 am EST
Source: YouTube | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment
The new Superman trailer has caused a bit of a Mandela Effect having to do with a possible connection with another film. If you’re not familiar with the Mandela Effect, it is a phenomenon where a large group of people remember an event or detail differently from how it actually occurred. The term was coined in 2009 by Fiona Broome after she realized that a large group of people falsely remember Nelson Mandela dying in the 1980s even though he lived until 2013. Other examples are people remembering Darth Vader saying, “Luke, I am your father.” except he actually says, “No. I am your father.” Or there being a genie movie called Shazam starring comedian Sinbad even though the movie doesn’t exist. The new Mandela Effect has to do with a moment in the Superman trailer where a news report in the background talks about “Major Flooding in Gotham”, which fans link to the end of Matt Reeves’ The Batman as the Riddler causes Gotham City to flood. There is a growing divide online on whether this means that Robert Pattinson’s Batman exists in the same universe as David Corenswet’s Superman, even though James Gunn has clearly said they don’t. The thing is though, the Easter Egg everyone is pointing to doesn’t actually say “Gotham”. As you can see in the attached image, it just says, “Major Flooding Causes Suffering.” Not sure if this is caused by wish fulfilment, people seeing what they want to see, or that audiences are so used to Superman and Batman both existing together that their minds connect the dots automatically, but for now the two universes are not connected no matter how hard fans try.Flooding
