The next season of “Sesame Street” is being brought to you by the big red letter “N.”
Netflix announced a deal Monday with Sesame Workshop, producer of the iconic kids’ show, giving the streamer exclusive worldwide premiere rights, starting with Season 56 later this year. Netflix also gains rights to 90 hours of past episodes of the show and will also be able to develop video games for both “Sesame Street” and “Sesame Street Mecha Builders.”
In the U.S., episodes of “Sesame Street” will continue to be available day-and-date on PBS stations and across PBS Kids digital platforms.
Sesame Workshop’s deal with Netflix comes after Warner Bros. Discovery’s did not renew its five-year deal for “Sesame Street” streaming on Max/HBO Max. (via Variety)
'SUPERMAN' REVEALS FIRST LOOK AT MOVIE’S 8TH VILLAIN05/19/25 @ 3:54 pm EST
Source: The Direct | Categories: DCU | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentA new
Superman toy has revealed the eighth major villain set to appear in James Gunn's upcoming DC Studios epic. While big names like Lex Luthor and The Engineer will put their stamp on the 2025 comic book film, Gunn has made it clear that there will be room for even more characters from the Man of Steel's rogues' gallery in his first DCU movie.
A new toy listing revealed that the mysterious Yeti would be the eighth villain in
Superman. While most will know the white-furred beast from real-world mythology, the Yeti has a history in DC Comics, having been seen fighting heroes like Black Adam in various comic book stories over the years.
The Yeti reveal came via a
Superman tie-in toy set spotted by Superman Homepage, featuring a figurine of the hulking metahuman. The set, called the "Fortress of Solitude Battle Set," includes posable plastic figurines of David Corenswet's Man of Steel, the adorable Krypto the Super-Dog, and the Yeti.
The Yeti is the eighth villain revealed for
Superman, joining the likes of Lex Luthor, Hammer of Boravia, Ultraman, The Engineer, White Alien, Kaiju and, of course, LexCorp. (via The Direct)
Superman will soar into theaters on July 11.
TI WEST FOUND FOOTAGE HORROR MOVIE JUST LANDED ON PRIME VIDEO05/19/25 @ 10:38 am EST
Source: ComicBook | Categories: MIsc | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment
When people think of horror filmmaker Ti West, many probably think about his recent trilogy of A24 films with Mia Goth.
X,
Pearl, and
Maxxxine made for a fantastic big screen horror saga, but those movies came after a substantial gap in West’s feature film resume. Earlier in his career, West was known for his horror innovations with ultra low budgets, delivering some terrifying work in the world of found footage.
West’s most well-known found footage horror film is probably 2011’s
The Innkeepers, but his follow-up effort two years later is every bit as chilling. In 2013, West released a little film called
The Sacrament, and the movie just made its way to Amazon’s Prime Video lineup.
The film follows a camera crew as they accompany a man on a search for his missing sister. Once they get to the religious “paradise” where she has been staying, things start to spiral out of their control. (via ComicBook.com)
ANTHONY CARRIGAN TALKS METAMORPHO05/18/25 @ 1:06 pm EST
Source: YouTube | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentThe new
Superman trailer gave us better looks at the character of Metamorpho, played by
Anthony Carrigan. We also get to see how this reluctant hero is being used against Superman (
David Corenswet) by Lex Luthor (
Nicholas Hoult). In one scene we see Superman in a cell being beaten with Metamorpho sitting behind him. If you look closely, his hand is a glowing shade of green, meaning he likely used his ability to transform his body into other elements to make his hand into Kryptonite to weaken Superman. And while there is no evidence in the comics that he’s ever done it, it is conceivable that Metamorpho could use his molecular reconstruction abilities and elasticity to take the size and form of a kaiju-like creature. Either way he’s definitely being manipulated by Lex. Carrigan was asked recently by the DC Studio Showcase podcast about what comics were his inspiration for the characters. The Barry actor said, "Basically, whatever I could get my hands on. It was really important to me — and I think it was also one of the reasons James hired me — is because this character in particular has this real kind of pathos to him. And unlike a lot of superheroes, he's not crazy about the fact that he's a superhero. He feels cursed by what he has. And so I really kind of bring something to that, and it really lit a fire." So while other heroes will appear in the film, it looks like Metamorpho has the potential to go from unwilling tool to the hero from the comics.

DOES MARVEL HAVE PLANS FOR IRON FIST?05/18/25 @ 12:17 pm EST
Source: Comic Book Resources | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentWith the second season of
Daredevil: Born Again set up for other heroes to appear and the recent announcement of
Krysten Ritter returning as Jessica Jones, the question becomes what about the other Defenders? Well, it appears that Marvel Studios has something in mind as they decided not to include Danny Rand's Iron Fist in What If...? Season 3. According to the show's director,
Bryan Andrews, there were plans for a Kung-Fu-centric episode featuring Iron Fist alongside Shang-Chi, but Marvel Studios asked him to drop those plans. This would likely feature a tournament pitting the two martial artists against others from the comics to see who was the best. Instead, the season introduced Kwai Jun-Fan, a young fighter in the Wild West, who has ties to the Iron Fist mantle in Marvel Comics. While Jun-Fan isn't explicitly given the Iron Fist powers in the show, his skills and story hint at a possible future for the character in the MCU. It seems odd that Marvel would not want the character used unless the specific scenario planned was too close to something else in the works.
PRIME PASSES ON MORE OF THE BONDSMAN05/17/25 @ 11:56 am EST
Source: Variety | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentThe Bondsman has been canceled after just one season on Prime Video. The supernatural action-horror series, starring
Kevin Bacon, premiered on April 3, 2025, but despite strong initial viewership, it failed to maintain momentum. The show made it to #9 on Nielsen’s streaming rankings during its debut week, with 563 million minutes viewed, but quickly dropped off the charts. While it received positive reviews, averaging 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, it struggled to generate buzz on social media. The series followed Hub Halloran (Bacon), a murdered bounty hunter resurrected by the Devil to track down escaped demons. It was produced by Blumhouse Television and created by
Grainger David.
MILLY ALCOCK'S SUPERGIRL TO DEBUT BEFORE SOLO MOVIE05/17/25 @ 11:49 am EST
Source: Threads | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentMilly Alcock has been confirmed to appear as Supergirl in
Superman (2025), directed by
James Gunn. Alcock was previously announced as Supergirl for
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (2026), but recent reports suggest she would make her debut earlier in
Superman. Fans have speculated about her involvement since the release of the film’s trailer, where eagle-eyed viewers believe they spotted a Supergirl cameo. That was seemingly confirmed by Warner Bros themselves as they listed the upcoming film on HBO Max and included Alcock as a member of the cast. Earlier this week during the Upfronts, head of Warner Bros,
David Zaslav, said that the pillars for building the DC Universe included Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Supergirl. As the other two pillars have yet to be cast, it would make sense for them to get the first to in place as quickly as possible.
Superman is set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
