JENNIKA GOES SOLO WITH ALL-NEW TMNT SERIES BEGINNING IN FEBRUARY

Source: IDW | Categories: TMNT | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment

The ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic book from IDW Publishing (OTC: IDWM) has achieved resounding acclaim from fans and critics alike on the march to its 100th issue. Now, in the aftermath of the cataclysmic “City at War” storyline, the newest addition to the team will step into the spotlight in a three-issue miniseries, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Jennika!!

Written and illustrated by Brahm Revel (Guerillas), who previously shed light on the character’s mysterious origins in IDW’s TMNT Universe series, the miniseries finds Jennika still trying to acclimate to life as a mutant. Drawn into conflict with a never-before-seen villain, she embarks on a journey that forces her to face her troubled past and conflicted present!

“Jennika has always been a fascinating character, and her story is now moving in directions none of us could have ever anticipated,” says Revel. “I’m very excited about the opportunity to revisit Jenn's past and explore how she's been handling the recent changes in her life, all while being tested by a world that’s changing just as rapidly as she is.”

Editor Bobby Curnow says, “Brahm has a fantastic knack for revealing character through adversity. With the Jennika miniseries, he’s digging deep into what makes this fan-favorite character tick, all in a fast-moving and accessible story. I’m also excited for people to see the back-up stories from up-and-coming creators that will be featured in every issue.”

TMNT: Jennika #1 will be available with a main cover by Brahm Revel, plus two Retailer Incentive variant editions by talented newcomer Jodie Nishijima and Freddie Williams II (Batman/TMNT), respectively.

For information on how to acquire copies of the new TMNT: Jennika miniseries by Brahm Revel or the ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series by Sophie Campbell, please contact your local comic shop or visit www.comicshoplocator.com to find a store near you.
WARNER BROS REVIVES 'RIN TIN TIN' WITH 'ADDAMS FAMILY' SCRIBE MATT LIEBERMAN; HERO HOUND ONCE SAVED THE STUDIO
11/11/19 @ 2:35 pm EST

Rin Tin Tin

Deadline reports that Warner Bros has set up a movie built around Rin Tin Tin, the venerable German Shepherd that once was credited with saving the studio from bankruptcy in the 1920s, and appeared as the hero in 27 films.

Hired to write is Matt Lieberman, who most recently scripted another dog tale for Warner Bros in the upcoming animated film Scoob, and who scripted the just released MGM animated film The Addams Family and Playing With Fire, and he is working on the animated Jetsons. He has upcoming the Shawn Levy-directed Ryan Reynolds-starrer Free Guy that Fox/Disney will be released next July.

The plan is to reinvent Rin Tin Tin as a modern action star, the John Wick of dogs. Here, the hero is an elite military dog on a covert mission to prevent a large scale attack. The film will be live action.

The Rin Tin Tin films were always reliable hits, and saved Warner Bros from bankruptcy more than once, during the silent film era. He was a casualty of the talkies, though, when performances were suddenly embellished by voice, and well, Rin Tin Tin couldn’t talk. The original dog died in 1932.

Avengers Endgame portals

The 2019 E! People's Choice Awards were a night to remember Sunday as Hollywood's biggest celebrities from movies, TV, music and pop culture took to the stage to accept their trophies. You, the fans, submitted over one billion votes during this year's PCAs voting period and it's time to reveal the 2019 winners list.

Avengers: Endgame was named as the Movie of the Year. In total, the Marvel Studios film was nominated for seven awards, including Movie Actress of the Year (Scarlett Johansson) and Action Star of the Year (both Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans).

Downey opened the ceremony by honoring Kevin Hart, who won The Comedy Act of 2019. This was Hart's first public appearance since the dangerous car crash that almost killed him back in September. He went on to add yet another award to his trophy case after nabbing the People’s Choice Award for Male Movie Star of 2019.

"Well, look, I just got to come up here and open the show so I'll just say thank you Disney, thank you Marvel, thank you Russo brothers," Downey said, accepting the trophy. "And most of all, to the late, great Stan Lee, this is for you, buddy!"

Zendaya, who starred in Spider-Man: Far From Home, took home the award for Female Movie Star of 2019.

Jennifer Aniston was honored with The People's Icon of 2019 Award for her many memorable roles while fashionista, singer and designer Gwen Stefani took home the Fashion Icon Award trophy.

Rounding out the night's major honorees was Pink, who was named The People's Champion for her charitable contributions to organizations like Autism Speaks, the Human Rights Campaign and Planned Parenthood, just to name a few.

DEMIAN BICHIR TO JOIN GEORGE CLOONEY IN ‘GOOD MORNING, MIDNIGHT’ ADAPTATION
11/10/19 @ 9:40 pm EST
Source: Variety | Categories: MIsc | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment

Demian Bichir

Variety reports that Demian Bichir is set to join George Clooney in Netflix’s adaptation of Lily Brooks-Dalton’s novel Good Morning, Midnight.

Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo and Kyle Chandler are also on board, with Clooney set to helm the pic — his first feature film directing gig since 2017’s Suburbicon. The Revenant screenwriter Mark L. Smith penned the script.

The post-apocalyptic tale follows the parallel stories of Augustine (played by Clooney), a lonely scientist in the Arctic, and an astronaut on board the Aether spacecraft, which is trying to return home to Earth, as Augustine races to make contact with the spaceship. Bechir’s role is being kept under wraps.

Production is currently underway.

Arrowverse Crisis Crossover Photos

It looks like neither time nor space (nor presumed fatalities) will keep anyone from participating in this season’s five-part Arrowverse crossover. The CW has released the first teaser for “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” which finds a slew of supers suiting up for battle.

The 15-second video includes a dramatic shot of J’onn J’onnz (the Martian Manhunter), Sara Lance (White Canary), Barry Allen (The Flash), Kara Danvers (Supergirl), Lex Luthor — who apparently got a new lease on life from The Monitor’s visit in Supergirl‘s fourth season finale — and Kate Kane (Batwoman), looking ready to rumble. Though somewhat difficult to make out, it also appears that newcomer Ryan Choi (played by Osric Chau) is standing by their side. (via TV Line)

While we’re at it, here’s a full breakdown of when the “Crisis” episodes will air:

Supergirl: Sunday, Dec. 8 at 8 pm (special time)
Batwoman: Monday, Dec. 9 at 8 pm (special day)
The Flash: Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 8 pm
Arrow: Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 8 pm (special time)
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 9 pm (special episode)
