NICOLAS CAGE TALKS ABOUT HIS 'THE FLASH' CAMEO07/29/23 @ 2:06 pm EST
Source: USA Today | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentNicolas Cage talked with
USA Today about his quick cameo as Superman in
The Flash. Cage said he was happy to get to play the character after he had originally been cast in the role of Clark Kent/Superman back in
Tim Burton’s failed attempt at
Superman Lives! And while he liked finally donning the cape, he did think it was awfully quick. “Well, I was glad I didn’t blink. For me, it was the feeling of being actualized. Even that look for that particular character, finally seeing it on screen, was satisfying. But as I said, it’s quick. If you really wanted to know what I was going do with that character, look at my performance in “City of Angels. I was supposed (to play) Clark Kent after that, and I was already developing this alien otherness playing this angel. That is a perfect example of the tonality you would’ve gotten for Kal-El and for Clark Kent: Clark would’ve been a little more amusing, but Kal-El (had) the sensitivity and the goodness and the vulnerability and all those feelings that were kind of angelic and also terrifying.” At least now we have a bit of a better idea of what his Superman would’ve been like.

Blood Hunt, Doctor Doom seized the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme—but that was just the beginning! Doom’s ambition knows no limit, and starting this February, Marvel’s most iconic supervillain uses his new power to take over the world in ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM!
Impacting the status quo of the entire Marvel Universe in exciting tie-in issues, ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM will be anchored by a nine-issue event series written by Ryan North and drawn by R.B. Silva. The series takes readers behind the mask as they bear witness to the triumphs and trials of Doom’s rule, as well as Earth’s heroes’ foolish attempts to topple it. Today, fans can peek ahead at ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM #2, on sale in March, where the Fantastic Four will confront their archenemy—with disastrous consequences. Proving no match for Doom’s augmented magic, it’s a brutal defeat that will redefine Marvel’s First Family for the foreseeable future…
Doctor Doom has taken over the world, and Earth’s mightiest heroes have failed twice: first to stop him, and now to overthrow him. But the Fantastic Four know Doom better than anyone, which makes them ideally suited to take on Earth’s new Emperor...except for the fact that he knows THEM just as well. As Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, and Sue and Johnny Storm prepare to face down Doom at the United Nations, Doom pays a secret visit to speak to the only person on Earth who holds both his favor, his respect...and his love. But can Valeria Richards change her uncle’s mind? And if she fails, what will stop Doom from visiting a shocking fate on the Fantastic Four that not even he can undo? And, as the Avengers reel from their losses, the course of the Marvel Universe will change – and Marvel's First Family won’t be the same!
“Things really kick off in ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM #2,” North shared. “Doom is consolidating his power, and of course, the only thing that's really standing between him and his ambitions is the Fantastic Four. So, Doom simply solves that problem. The way he does it will have repercussions for the FF for quite a while! This issue in particular is basically a surprise secret issue of Fantastic Four - and anyone reading that book will not want to miss it.” Check out new covers for ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM #2, including pieces by series artist R.B. Silva and acclaimed artist Jerome Opeña.

The Boys Season 5, The Direct is reporting.
Production has officially begun on
The Boys Season 5, and showrunner Eric Kripke has previously confirmed that the fifth season will conclude the fan-favorite Prime Video series, aligning with the long-planned five-season arc. But although Seasons 1-4 were dark, Season 5 seems to be taking it to another level.
The first leaked set photos from Season 5 have sent fans into a frenzy. They offer a glimpse at a storyline that draws eerie parallels to historical atrocities. The images, shared by Sonya on X, depict "freedom camps" with a chilling sign that reads "Freedom sets you free," a nod to the infamous phrase associated with concentration camps in World War II.
Beneath the sign, Vernon Correctional Services' logo hints at Vought International’s involvement, fueling speculation about the satirical show's take on authoritarianism and propaganda.

GUNN ADDRESSES RUMORED SUPERMAN RESHOOTS12/08/24 @ 1:06 pm EST
Source: Heat Vision Newsletter | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentThe Hollywood Reporter has said, through their
Heat Vision Newsletter, that the upcoming
Superman movie “will be doing a few days of additional shooting in Los Angeles in the near term” following a recent test screening. And while it’s completely normal now for a film to do reshoots, these aren’t really reshooting. According to director
James Gunn when asked if the report was true, he said, “Sort of. Not a few days. We’re doing a day and a half of pickup shots. No scenes. No reshoots. Just a handful of individual shots to enhance the film.” Pickup shots are minor shots that are filmed after the main filming of a movie has ended. They are used in a variety of reasons including: filling in gaps, logistical connections, improving quality, experimentation, establishing shots, close ups and matching shots. These are usually planned and scheduled into production and a day and a half of pickup shots on a film this big is nothing.

Along with he slippers, one of the Wicked Witch’s Hat from the same collection also went up for auction, fetching $2.93 million.

Anthony Michael Hall,
Sonya Cassidy,
Brain Tee,
Johnny Berchtold,
Robert Montesinos,
Daniel David Stewart and the extremely large

JAMES GUNN ON RYAN REYNOLDS RETURN TO THE DCU12/07/24 @ 9:19 am EST
Source: Happy Sad Confused Podcast | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentContext is everything… and sarcasm is hard to put into a sentence. On Thursday’s episode of the
Happy, Sad, Confused podcast,
James Gunn talked about all things DC Studios from the
Creature Commandos to
Superman. In the mix of talking about the upcoming HBO series
Lanterns, the host jokingly asked Gunn if that meant
Ryan Reynolds was not coming back to reprise his role as Hal Jordan from the 2011
Green Lantern film. Gunn responded, also jokingly, “Ryan doesn’t give a s#!t! One of the first people I talked to after I got the job was Ryan Reynolds. I was like, ‘You coming back?!’ He’s like, ‘Get the f#@k out of here!’” Now, listening to the podcast, it’s pretty obvious that this was not a real conversation. Did he talk to Reynolds? Probably. But I doubt that was the actual conversation. More likely Gunn giving a sarcastic answer to a sarcastic question. But that hasn't stopped multiple outlets treating this like it's a revelation.
FROM ROY KENT TO HERCULES TO HAGRID?12/07/24 @ 8:59 am EST
Source: Deadline | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentRumors are buzzing around like Golden Snitches as Warner Bros looks for their new cast for the new
Harry Potter television series. While there has been no news on the children’s roles, the faculty of Hogwart’s is getting a lot of attention with claims that
Paapa Essiedu is up to play Severus Snape,
Sharon Horgan to be the new Minerva McGonagall and both
Mark Rylance and
Mark Strong talked about for Albus Dumbledore. And while no official casting has been announced, the latest rumor has to do with Rubeus Hagrid, the character previously brought to life by the late
Robbie Coltrane. Word is that
Ted Lasso star
Brett Goldstein is up to play the gamekeeper, which will be the second powerful role the former Roy Kent would be playing after popping up in the MCU as Hercules in
Thor Love and Thunder. It may be awhile before we have any of these roles confirmed, as the series isn’t expected to debut until later 2026-2027, but that won’t stop sites from reporting the rumors.
