DENIS VILLENEUVE 'DUNE 3' SCRIPT ALMOST FINISHED

Denis Villeneuve participated in a “Dune: Part Two” press conference in South Korea and went on record saying the upcoming “Part Two” is a “much better” movie than his 2021 original. The sequel, arriving in theaters in March 2024, once again stars Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya and picks up the story of Paul Atreides as he leads the Fremen in a battle against the villainous Harkonnen empire. Considering the first “Dune” movie was a box office hit with $402 million (despite being released on streaming at the same time) and an awards darling with 10 Oscar nominations, including best picture, and six wins (original score, sound, film editing, cinematography, production design and visual effects), it’s quite notable Villeneuve is going on record calling the upcoming sequel a better movie. The director has also gone on record expressing interest in making a third “Dune” movie, one based on Frank Herbert’s follow-up novel “Dune Messiah.” Back in August, Villeneuve told Empire magazine: “If I succeed in making a trilogy, that would be the dream. I will say, there are words on paper [for a third film].” (via Variety)

FANTASTIC FOUR IS NO MATCH FOR DOOM IN 'ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM' #2
12/09/24 @ 9:23 pm EST
Source: Marvel | Categories: Dr. Doom | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment

This past summer in Blood Hunt, Doctor Doom seized the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme—but that was just the beginning! Doom’s ambition knows no limit, and starting this February, Marvel’s most iconic supervillain uses his new power to take over the world in ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM!

Impacting the status quo of the entire Marvel Universe in exciting tie-in issues, ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM will be anchored by a nine-issue event series written by Ryan North and drawn by R.B. Silva. The series takes readers behind the mask as they bear witness to the triumphs and trials of Doom’s rule, as well as Earth’s heroes’ foolish attempts to topple it. Today, fans can peek ahead at ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM #2, on sale in March, where the Fantastic Four will confront their archenemy—with disastrous consequences. Proving no match for Doom’s augmented magic, it’s a brutal defeat that will redefine Marvel’s First Family for the foreseeable future…

Doctor Doom has taken over the world, and Earth’s mightiest heroes have failed twice: first to stop him, and now to overthrow him. But the Fantastic Four know Doom better than anyone, which makes them ideally suited to take on Earth’s new Emperor...except for the fact that he knows THEM just as well. As Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, and Sue and Johnny Storm prepare to face down Doom at the United Nations, Doom pays a secret visit to speak to the only person on Earth who holds both his favor, his respect...and his love. But can Valeria Richards change her uncle’s mind? And if she fails, what will stop Doom from visiting a shocking fate on the Fantastic Four that not even he can undo? And, as the Avengers reel from their losses, the course of the Marvel Universe will change – and Marvel's First Family won’t be the same!

“Things really kick off in ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM #2,” North shared. “Doom is consolidating his power, and of course, the only thing that's really standing between him and his ambitions is the Fantastic Four. So, Doom simply solves that problem. The way he does it will have repercussions for the FF for quite a while! This issue in particular is basically a surprise secret issue of Fantastic Four - and anyone reading that book will not want to miss it.” Check out new covers for ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM #2, including pieces by series artist R.B. Silva and acclaimed artist Jerome Opeña.

Preorder ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM at your local comic shop and stay tuned this week for more ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM news, including new tie-in series announcements.

'STAR WARS: THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU' ADDS JEREMY ALLEN WHITE
12/09/24 @ 9:09 pm EST
Source: Deadline | Categories: Star Wars Mandalorian | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment

The Star Wars: Mandalorian & Grogu movie has added The Bear star Jeremy Allen White in the role of Jabba the Hutt’s son, Rotta the Hutt, Deadline has confirmed. It’s a notably sized role; no cameo here.

Big fat, snake-like intergalatic crime boss Jabba doesn’t have any human sons, and if he does, well, that’s a first. Let’s assume White is voicing this creature. Relatives of Jabba the Hutt have appeared throughout Star Wars series (Book of Boba Fett) and movies like Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

White joins already cast Pedro Pascal, who plays Mando, and Ghostbusters actress Sigourney Weaver. Jon Favreau directs and co-wrote with Dave Filoni. The movie hits theaters on May 22, 2026.
‘FINAL DESTINATION 6’ SETS SUMMER RELEASE, J.J. ABRAMS' ‘FLOWERVALE STREET’ DELAYED TO 2026

Warner Bros. has shuffled its film release schedule, planting “Final Destination: Bloodlines” on the calendar in summer and delaying the J.J. Abrams-backed mystery thriller “Flowervale Street” to 2026.

“Final Destination 6” will be released on May 16, 2025. It’s taking over the slot previously occupied by “Flowervale Street,” which was set for mid-May but has been pushed nearly a year to March 13, 2026. “Final Destination: Bloodlines” is the only major studio release on that date, but it will debut two weeks after Disney’s Marvel adventure “Thunderbolts” (May 2) and the week prior to Paramount’s “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” and Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch” (May 23).

“Final Destination: Bloodlines” will be directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein. It’s the first new installment in the franchise in 14 years, since 2011’s “Final Destination 5.” (via Variety)

The Boys Season 5: First Set Photos Confirm 1 Shocking Storyline

A haunting new storyline was spotted on the set of The Boys Season 5, The Direct is reporting.

Production has officially begun on The Boys Season 5, and showrunner Eric Kripke has previously confirmed that the fifth season will conclude the fan-favorite Prime Video series, aligning with the long-planned five-season arc. But although Seasons 1-4 were dark, Season 5 seems to be taking it to another level.

The first leaked set photos from Season 5 have sent fans into a frenzy. They offer a glimpse at a storyline that draws eerie parallels to historical atrocities. The images, shared by Sonya on X, depict "freedom camps" with a chilling sign that reads "Freedom sets you free," a nod to the infamous phrase associated with concentration camps in World War II.

Beneath the sign, Vernon Correctional Services' logo hints at Vought International’s involvement, fueling speculation about the satirical show's take on authoritarianism and propaganda.

The Boys Seasons 1 through 4 and Season 1 of Gen V are streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

GUNN ADDRESSES RUMORED SUPERMAN RESHOOTS

The Hollywood Reporter has said, through their Heat Vision Newsletter, that the upcoming Superman movie “will be doing a few days of additional shooting in Los Angeles in the near term” following a recent test screening. And while it’s completely normal now for a film to do reshoots, these aren’t really reshooting. According to director James Gunn when asked if the report was true, he said, “Sort of. Not a few days. We’re doing a day and a half of pickup shots. No scenes. No reshoots. Just a handful of individual shots to enhance the film.” Pickup shots are minor shots that are filmed after the main filming of a movie has ended. They are used in a variety of reasons including: filling in gaps, logistical connections, improving quality, experimentation, establishing shots, close ups and matching shots. These are usually planned and scheduled into production and a day and a half of pickup shots on a film this big is nothing.Superman

We have our first look and release date for Reacher season 3. The Alan Ritchson lead action series will return to Amazon Prime on February 20th, 2025, and will be based on the Lee Child novel, Persuader. The series will put Reacher in the center of a vast criminal enterprise in hopes of rescuing an undercover DEA agent and catching a killer from his past. The cast for the new season includes Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, Brain Tee, Johnny Berchtold, Robert Montesinos, Daniel David Stewart and the extremely large Olivier Richters who will play Paulie, an adversary that makes Reacher look small. The series continues to diverge from the novels with the return of Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, one of the few recurring characters in the books but she does not appear in two of the three novels that the series had adapted so far. A spinoff series focused on Neagley is said to be in the works.Reacher
JAMES GUNN ON RYAN REYNOLDS RETURN TO THE DCU

Context is everything… and sarcasm is hard to put into a sentence. On Thursday’s episode of the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, James Gunn talked about all things DC Studios from the Creature Commandos to Superman. In the mix of talking about the upcoming HBO series Lanterns, the host jokingly asked Gunn if that meant Ryan Reynolds was not coming back to reprise his role as Hal Jordan from the 2011 Green Lantern film. Gunn responded, also jokingly, “Ryan doesn’t give a s#!t! One of the first people I talked to after I got the job was Ryan Reynolds. I was like, ‘You coming back?!’ He’s like, ‘Get the f#@k out of here!’” Now, listening to the podcast, it’s pretty obvious that this was not a real conversation. Did he talk to Reynolds? Probably. But I doubt that was the actual conversation. More likely Gunn giving a sarcastic answer to a sarcastic question. But that hasn't stopped multiple outlets treating this like it's a revelation.Reynolds

Rumors are buzzing around like Golden Snitches as Warner Bros looks for their new cast for the new Harry Potter television series. While there has been no news on the children’s roles, the faculty of Hogwart’s is getting a lot of attention with claims that Paapa Essiedu is up to play Severus Snape, Sharon Horgan to be the new Minerva McGonagall and both Mark Rylance and Mark Strong talked about for Albus Dumbledore. And while no official casting has been announced, the latest rumor has to do with Rubeus Hagrid, the character previously brought to life by the late Robbie Coltrane. Word is that Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein is up to play the gamekeeper, which will be the second powerful role the former Roy Kent would be playing after popping up in the MCU as Hercules in Thor Love and Thunder. It may be awhile before we have any of these roles confirmed, as the series isn’t expected to debut until later 2026-2027, but that won’t stop sites from reporting the rumors.Hercules
