Kit Harington Breaks Silence on The Eternals Delay After ...

The future of Marvel Studios seems to be at a strange impasse because of the coronavirus shutdowns, with Black Widow being pushed back to November while The Eternals has been delayed until next year. Some fans might think there is a lot of work to be done on these Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, but it looks like the next two movies are still on track to meet their new release dates despite the major setbacks facing the Phase 4 slate of films.

And now we know more about The Eternals, which could have the biggest impact on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward.

Game of Thrones' Jon Snow actor Kit Harington recently participated in a fan Q&A session and revealed some new details about his MCU debut, including some news that will likely make fans stressed out about the future of The Eternals.

"Well, [The Eternals] is done, that's filmed," said Harington. "It's just, God knows what happened...or what's going on with it, I have no idea. I don't know what's happening with anything right now." (via Comic Book)

The Eternals is now set to premiere in theaters on February 12, 2021.

Deadline reports that all eight Harry Potter movies are available for streaming on HBO Max, the WarnerMedia service that launched Wednesday in the U.S.

Released between 2001 and 2011, the films based on J.K. Rowling’s family-friendly series of books collectively grossed $7.7 billion for Warner Bros.

Like other Warner titles, they had premium cable releases on HBO and in 2018 became available via the HBO Go and HBO Now streaming apps. (Go is for pay-TV subscribers to HBO and Now is a stand-alone version of HBO.) Digitally, they were available for rental and purchase but not via subscription streaming through a single outlet for non-HBO subscribers.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, a spinoff of the Potter films, will also be available on HBO Max.

New Fraggle Rock reboot coming to Apple TV+(Video) - Geeky Gadgets

Apple TV+ has confirmed its new season order and purchase of rights to the full back catalog of Fraggle Rock, the live action puppet show originally owned by HBO.

9to5Mac reports the newly-acquired Fraggle Rock episodes will start streaming on Apple TV+ as soon as this week.

The news comes on the heels of Bloomberg reporting that Apple was buying up a back catalog of content to support its previously "all originals" streaming service.

However, Apple’s programming strategy reportedly remains largely unchanged from the all originals premise. Apple is supposedly not looking to buy up reams of content, and is only making select deals where it makes sense — like getting the back catalog of a show when they order a reboot.

The new graphic novel launches on Kickstarter today.

For many, Chip Mosher is known as the head of content for Amazon's digital comics company ComiXology, or perhaps for his former role as head of marketing for BOOM! Studios. He's also a comic book creator, a fact likely to become far better known with the release of Blacking Out, his upcoming collaboration with artist Peter Krause (Archie 1941, Irredeemable).

Searching for the truth about the death of a woman whose body was discovered in the middle of a wildfire that destroyed 10,000 acres, former cop Conrad comes up against the victim's family, local police and his own limitations in the noir detective story writer Mosher described as a story "about bad people doing bad things."

"My adopted hometown of Los Angeles is so dense with crime lore and in my 20 years living here, I haven't stopped falling down that rabbit hole," Mosher said. "That legacy and the emergent Southern California wildfires led to Blacking Out and I was fortunate to find talented collaborators willing to fuel my buzzkill vision." (via THR)

Blacking Out is launching as a Kickstarter campaign, with multiple rewards on offer beyond the core 56-page graphic novel. Krause is offering an original drawing; Mosher, a personal tour of L.A.'s most notorious crime sites; and a murderer's row of artists including Eduardo Risso (100 Bullets, Moonshine), Francesco Francavilla (Afterlife With Archie, The Black Beetle) and Mirka Andolfo (Mercy) are illustrating an 11-card set of "cinematic lobby cards" prints featuring characters from the project.

More information about the campaign, and Blacking Out as a graphic novel, can be found here.

Alex de la Iglesia

Variety reports that Sony Pictures International Productions and Amazon Prime Video have closed a multi-picture deal with celebrated Spanish cineaste Álex de la Iglesia to produce a new horror feature film anthology, The Fear Collection.

Put through Pokeepsie Films, De la Iglesia and Carolina Bang’s Madrid-based production company, the deal will see De la Iglesia direct and/or produce movies from The Fear Collection, which also take in suspense titles.

Produced in association with Amazon Prime Video, the films will be initially theatrically released by Sony Pictures Entertainment Iberia. They will then be made available on Amazon Prime in Spain. SPIP will control all distribution rights for each picture outside of Spain.

Though always made under De la iglesia’s creative influence, movies may be directed by other notable filmmakers. Sony announced Thursday that several projects are currently in development for The Fear Collection, with established writers and directors such as the De la Iglesia himself teaming with his longterm co-writer Jorge Guerricaechevarría as well as [REC] writer-director Jaume Balagueró, Paula Ortiz, director of B.O. breakout The Bride, Fernando Navarro, co-writer of Paco Plaza’s Netflix hit Verónica, and Carlos Theron, director of 2019 Telecinco Cinema B.O. hit I Can Quit Whenever I Want.
KYOTO ANIMATION ARSON SUSPECT IS ARRESTED IN JAPAN

Animation Studio Fire

Japanese police have arrested Shinji Aoba, the man suspected of the arson attack on Kyoyo Animation last July. The arrest came after he was judged sufficiently recovered from his own burn injuries to face scrutiny.

The blaze at the animation production studio killed 36 people and injured another 33.

Aoba was found near the scene and apparently has admitted to setting the fire. “There is no mistake,” the police quoted him as saying. Aoba is said to have accused the studio of stealing his ideas.

In a life-threatening condition for months, Aoba received multiple skin grafts at a hospital in Osaka. He was later sent to a hospital in nearby Kyoto in November for rehabilitation.

Police previously intended to arrest him in January, but he was too ill. He has now been taken to a Kyoto police station for interrogation.

Police in Saitama, near Tokyo, uncovered DVDs from Kyoto Amination when they raided Aoba’s home. They have also investigated Aoba as the source of anonymous threatening messages made against the company in 2018. The sender reportedly used the Tor identity-disguising software. (via Variety)
