The newest trailer for the upcoming Marvel Studios series Agatha All Along is shedding some light on one of the mysterious characters, but not too much light. It has been long rumored that Joe Locke was playing a teenage version of Billy Kaplan, one of Wanda Maximoff’s two children from WandaVision, but that has never been confirmed. Locke’s character has always been referred to as “Teen”, but the new trailer shows that there is a lot to this character. He’s obsessed with Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) and has studied her from her Salem days forward. He’s also the one that broke her out of the spell Wanda had placed her under. But when he tries to tell her his name, we see that a magic spell has been cast on him preventing that from happening. He’s come to her because she is the only witch to survive the Witches Road in the past and he wants to make the journey to get something, but we don’t know what. Agatha, who has been depowered, is interested in the road so she can get her powers back. Now, if he is Billy, he could be using the Witches Road to get his mother back… and cast the spell on himself so Agatha wouldn’t know she was rescuing Wanda. But at this point that’s a big “If” that won’t be answered until the series debuts on September 18th.

Henry Cavill, the former Superman actor and star of The Witcher, has come aboard Voltron to topline the live-action feature based on the mecha anime that Rawson Marshall Thurber is directing. The actor joins Daniel Quinn-Toye, the newcomer who impressed the studio and director with his West End work opposite Tom Holland, in leading the roll call. Voltron is based on the Japanese sci-fi series Beast King GoLion and Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV. World Events edited and dubbed the series as a syndicated show, naming it Voltron: Defender of the Universe, which ran in the mid-1980s. The premise centered on five young pilots in a battalion named the Robot Lions, which are vehicles that join together to form a mega-robot known as Voltron. Scream TV, the free new horror channel launching on Oct. 13, just announced a spooky programming run for its launch. Per a press release, “Halloween is finally on the horizon and Scream TV’s Oct. 13 launch is just around the corner. The brand new, free-to-air and free-to-stream (or scream!) TV channel dedicated to horror will be bringing viewers the very finest in horror entertainment from around the globe as well as celebrating the golden years of genre cinema. So get ready for the dark ride of your life, and don’t forget it’s all free to view.” For launch month, Scream TV is running some popular titles, including “Halloween” and “Freaks,” classics like “White Zombie” and “The Last House on the Left,” essential cult titles like “Motel Hell” and “Demons 2,” and more recent fare like “Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire” and “Restitution.” (via Variety)

Cineverse’s unrated slasher threequel Terrifier 3 grossed out $2.6M in previews on Thursday which began at 8PM. There’s speculation that this microbudget movie, which cost Cineverse under $5M in its entirety for acquisition and P&A, will topple Warner Bros’ Joker: Folie à Deux from the top spot of the box office in its second weekend with an $11M+ take. We will see. It all depends if Cineverse’s thrifty marketing campaign finds a greater audience beyond the core it’s promoting to; their streaming subs and Bloody Disgusting followers. The Damien Leone-written and -directed horror movie is 94% with Rotten Tomatoes audiences, and 78% with critics. Comscore/Screen Engine’s PostTrak didn’t capture audience exits on the film. Next year is shaping up to be a great year for the Little Nightmares franchise. Not only is the horror adventure series returning for a third game thanks to developer Supermassive Games, it's also getting a comic book spinoff. IGN is reporting the first details about Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere, a collaboration between Titan Comics and Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe. Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere is written by Lonnie Nadler (Cable) and illustrated by Dennis Menheere (Etheres), with Damien Worm providing the cover art to issue #1. The book will tell a new story set in this horror universe, offering a mystery that spans both the nightmarish realm known as the Nowhere and the Counties. The series will span four issues in total. Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere will be released in 2025.

German kids and animation outfit Studio 100 International and Gaumont Animation are joining forces on a new animated series inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s classic The Jungle Book. The series, tentatively titled Jungle Book: Cub Club Adventures, is currently in early development and will explore Mowgli’s life before the age of 11. Created by Josh Fisher, Jungle Book: Cub Club Adventures is being planned as a series of 52, 11-minute episodes targeting preschool kids and their families. The storylines will focus on Mowgli’s adventures with his young animal friends in the jungle, a period before we meet him in previous Jungle Book adaptations. Gaumont Animation and Studio 100 will be bringing the show to Cannes and the international television market MIPCOM later this month, seeking production and financing partners. The long-gestating Nautilus live action series has unveiled first trailer. Check it out below. Based on Jules Verne’s beloved Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, Nautilus tells the origin story of Captain Nemo: an Indian Prince robbed of his birthright and family, joining him as he steals a formidable prototype submarine and escapes into the Indian Ocean with a crew, determined to enact revenge against the ruthless East India Mercantile Company. The series has been on an interesting journey, having initially been with Disney+ before switching to AMC, Prime Video in the UK and Ireland and Stan in Australia. (via Deadline)

On Wednesday, DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn took to social media to fully confirm that Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights, Early Edition) has been cast as Hal Jordan / Green Lantern in the forthcoming HBO live-action series Lanterns. Chandler’s casting was first reported earlier this fall, after reports had indicated that actors like Josh Brolin, Matthew McConaughey, and Ewan McGregor were in contention for the part. This news comes just hours after official confirmation that Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge, Krypton) has also been cast in Lanterns‘ other lead role of John Stewart / Green Lantern. “Welcome to the DCU, Kyle Chandler!” Gunn’s post reads. “Now our Hal Jordan in #Lanterns.” Lanterns does not currently have a confirmed release date.
