'SUPERGIRL': KARA'S ALTER EGO IS GETTING PANTS NEXT SEASON

Source: Entertainment Weekly | Categories: DC | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment

EW reports that Melissa Benoist's Supergirl is getting a long-awaited wardrobe upgrade in Season 5.

The star of The CW's Supergirl revealed on Instagram the Girl of Steel’s brand new Season 5 super-suit. The biggest change? The skirt is no more and has been replaced by actual pants, which is something both Benoist and the showrunners have been wanting to do for a long time.

“We’ve been talking about pants since Season 1,” Benoist told EW. “Every time a writer from the show has come up, and it’s freezing cold in Vancouver, I’m like, ‘Guys, please can I not wear tights?’ I love [Kara’s old costume]. I haven’t changed it because it so works, and I think it is very Kara. I’ve always felt that — until recently, I’m like, ‘Something’s gotta give.'”

'DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW': BRANDON ROUTH AND COURTNEY FORD TO DEPART THE CW DRAMA AS SERIES REGULARS

Legends Of Tomorrow

Deadlineis reporting that DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow will be bidding farewell to two series regulars during the superhero team-up drama’s upcoming fifth season, Brandon Routh, who plays Ray Palmer/Atom, and Courtney Fort, who portrays Nora Darhk.

Routh was among the core group of fan-favorite recurring actors from Arrowand Flash who were recruited to anchor the third Arrowverse series, along with Victor Garber, Wentworth Miller and Caity Lotz, and has been a series regular from the start. Routh’s wife, Ford, joined Legends of Tomorrowas a recurring in Season 3 and was promoted to a regular at the beginning of Season 4. Mirroring real life, Routh and Ford’s characters are romantically linked on the show.

Routh and Ford’s exits stem from a creative decision to wrap up their storyline. Because of the nature of the time-traveling Legends Of Tomorrow, there has been a natural character turnover, with series regulars leaving as their stories come to an end and new ones coming on board. Of the large regular ensemble cast that started in Season 1, only a couple will still be on the show by the end of this coming season.

Routh and Ford are expected to film their final episode in October. It is unclear yet when it will air during Legends of Tomorrow‘s Season 5 run, slated to start in January.
MARVEL’S 'STAR WARS' COMIC SERIES WILL END THIS NOVEMBER

Source: io9 | Categories: Star Wars | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment

io9 is reporting that Marvel’s Star Wars, one of the most successful comics of the last twenty years with its first issue selling more than 1 million copies, is coming to an end with November’s #75.

According to the site, a Marvel spokesperson confirmed that this is the end of the line for the series, although Marvel has a number of other Star Wars comics still going strong (Doctor Aphra, Age of Resistance, and an on-the-horizon tie-in for The Rise of Skywalker).

The series reportedly still sells roughly 40,000 copies monthly, so this may not be an outright cancellation. If anything, it could be setting us up for a re-launch of the title after The Rise of Skywalker. It's happened.

Stay tuned.

Deadline reports that Sam Littlefield has been cast as a shady character nicknamed Mouse in a recurring role on the new CW series Batwoman.

Littlefield’s character is described only as a “dynamic figure” who is “working for Alice and the Wonderland Gang,” which suggests that this Mouse might be going down a dangerous rabbit hole in Gotham’s underworld. In DC Comics, Alice is a mentally unstable threat to city and a mysterious figure with complicated past and a penchant for Lewis Carroll cosplay.

Batwoman has been slotted for the 8 p.m. ET/PT slot on Sunday nights this fall. The show premieres Oct. 6.
'BOOK OF ENCHANTMENT' DISNEY+ TV SERIES PROJECT ABOUT DISNEY VILLAINS NOT GOING FORWARD

Source: Deadline | Categories: Disney | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment

Deadline reports that Disney+ has abruptly pulled the plug on one of the high-profile original series in the works at the streaming service, Book of Enchantment, an adaptation of the Villains book series by Serena Valentino featuring some of Disney’s most popular villains.

The move was largely creative, related to show’s tone and direction. It came down yesterday when the project was shut down 13 weeks into a writers room where a team of writers had been working on scripts.

Book of Enchantment had been in the works at Disney+ for almost a year. While it had not been formally greenlighted, budget conversations had been progressing, producers had scouted locations and a May 2020 production start in the UK had been eyed.
