IDW Launching New 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' Mini-Series In August – TrekMovie.com

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds fans won't have to wait long for new adventures after the upcoming second season finale streams on Paramount+.

IDW Publishing, which earned Star Trek its first-ever Eisner Awards nominations, is launching its second Star Trek: Strange New Worlds miniseries one week later. After bridging the gap between Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' first two seasons Star Trek: Strange New Worlds -- The Illyrian Enigma, IDW will keep the new voyages coming with Star Trek: Strange New Worlds -- The Scorpius Run in August. The familiar team of Kirsten Beyer and Mike Johnson (who tend to script all comics tying into ongoing live-action Star Trek shows) are writing the series, with artist Angel Hernandez (who drew Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' versions of Captain Pike, Mr. Spock, and Number One previously in the Star Trek: Discovery -- Aftermath miniseries) providing Star Trek: Strange New Worlds -- The Scorpius Run's visuals.

Here's the synopsis for the first issue, via IDW Publishing: "Come back to Strange New Worlds with a never-before-seen adventure of the hit Paramount+ show! Set course with Captain Pike and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise to the Scorpius constellation! As they venture into the unknown, the Enterprise crew learn what it truly means to traverse through the strange and unfamiliar when they lose contact with Starfleet and find themselves trapped in unexplored space!" (via ComicBook.com)

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 premieres on Paramount+ on June 15th. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds #1 releases August 23rd.

Scarlett Johansson เตรียมเผ่นป่าราบหนีไดโนเสาร์กับ Jurassic World เรื่องใหม่

Speaking to ComicBook at the Fly Me to the Moon press junket, Scarlett Johansson confirmed her casting in the next Jurassic World installment. "Everything," Johansson, who last led a blockbuster franchise during her Marvel Cinematic Universe tenure, responded when asked what about the new Jurassic project made her want to return to franchise films. "I'm an enormous Jurassic Park fan. It's one of the first films I remember seeing in the theater. I remember seeing it so vividly. It was like life-changing. It was mind-blowing. I cannot express how excited I am." This untitled sequel, tentatively known as Jurassic World 4, is penned by David Koepp, the writer of the original Jurassic Park (1993) screenplay. Jurassic World 4 represents Koepp's first time working in the franchise since 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park. This will be his first Jurassic script not directed by Steven Spielberg as Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, The Creator) will helm the project. Johansson joining Jurassic World is a long time coming, as she revealed she had been pushing to work within the franchise since it returned to theaters in the 2010s.

Tamayo Perry dies shark attack

Pirates of the Caribbean actor Tamayo Perry has died after a shark attack while surfing in Hawaii. He was 49. Perry, who was also a lifeguard and professional surfer, was attacked on Sunday afternoon, Honolulu’s emergency services confirmed in a press conference. Paramedics on Malaekahana Beach, Oahu, pronounced him dead after he had been taken to shore by jet ski. He had suffered “more than one possible bites,” according to officials. The actor was known for playing a buccaneer in 2011’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the fourth film in Disney’s Johnny Depp action franchise. Better known locally as a surfer, Perry had begun working as a lifeguard at the Ocean Safety department in July 2016. (via Deadline)

The temperature outside is definitely helping the box office heat up. Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out 2 is blowing folks away with only a 35% second week drop and a take of $100 million. These kind of numbers puts its second weekend as one of only seven to ever break $100 million, these include Force Awakens ($149.2M), Avengers: Endgame ($147.3M), Avengers: Infinity War ($114.7m), Black Panther ($111.6M), Jurassic World ($106.5M) and The Avengers ($103M). As for the rest of the box office, Bad Boys Ride or Die stayed in second with $18.7 million while the newly released The Bikeriders took in $10 million in its debut. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is still making noise in its seventh weekend, taking in $3.7 million and Garfield Movie rounds out the top five with $3.6 million. It will be interesting to see if this increased box office continues with the only big releases over the next few weeks being A Quiet Place: Day One and Despicable Me 4.Inside Out2
EBON MOSS-BACHRACH ON TRAINING TO PLAY THE THING

The upcoming Fantastic Four film is not Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s first appearance in the MCU. The actor who is currently on the hit series The Bear, was already part of the Netflix/Marvel shows with his role as David “Mircochip” Lieberman in the Punisher. Ironically back in 2017 he played opposite of Jon Bernthal who is also among the cast of The Bear, as Bernthal plays Mikey the once best friend of Moss-Bachrach’s Richie. While out promoting the upcoming third season of The Bear, Moss-Bachrach appeared on the Daily Show where he was asked about taking on the part of Ben Grimm aka The Thing and what type of training he was doing for it. The actor described Grimm as being encased in rocks… and that he’s basically just out there looking at rocks. He also tied the orange/stone member of Marvel’s first family into the recent vandalism at Stone Henge, saying that since the vandals painted the site orange, maybe he should go there for inspiration. The Fantastic Four is expected to start filming soon with a release in July of 2025 scheduled.  Ebon Moss-Bachrach
BRANDON ROUTH ADVICE ON PORTRAYING SUPERMAN

With everyone focused on the upcoming 2025 Superman movie and the newest actor to wear the cape, David Corenswet, everyone has their opinion on how the character should be played. Now a previous Man of Steel, Bradon Routh, was asked what advice he would have for someone taking on the mantle that he had in 2006. Speaking at the ACE Superhero Comic Con, the actor said: "I think the biggest thing for me about Superman is always recognizing the non-physical superpowers that he has. It can be cheesy to relate it to the 'teach a man to fish' story, but quite literally, that is how I see it, and it's very apropos to being the thing. If you save people all the time, everywhere, maybe they never learn how to save themselves. That doesn't mean that you don't save them, but it just means that the teaching, the personality, the aspect, the human communication, the understanding Superman can give us of inclusion," Rough continued, "To me, Superman is pure love; he doesn't judge. He has to make some hard choices and stop people from doing bad things, but my goal for Superman is that he's the guy that everyone can be in their person… maybe without all the flying and all the other stuff. But he's an example, the best of humanity, and he could teach us to do it, not just by his actions, but by calling out the truth."Brandon Routh
WITH AVENGERS 5, THE DOCTOR IS IN

If nothing else, the Doctor is in. In a new video podcast for Still Watching Netflix, actor Benedict Cumberbatch both confirmed that he will be returning to the role of Doctor Strange in the upcoming fifth Avengers movie, but that he is expecting it to being filming next year. The Sherlock actor hasn’t been shy about his return to the franchise having said last July that he had expected to begin filming this year, but various strikes have caused a lot of production delays as well as the film going through re-writes, the loss of its title character and still trying to find a director. The latest rumors have Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy taking up the helm, but that has not been confirmed. Even the title is uncertain, once being called Avengers: Kang Dynasty, but most are now referring to it as just Avengers 5 since the arrest and conviction of Kang actor Jonathan Majors. The studio has announced they parted ways with the actor, but no recasting has been revealed. It is likely that the fate of the film will be laid out at the upcoming D23 in August and Cumberbatch’s master of the mystic arts is expected to be a major player in whatever Marvel is planning. SEEING DOUBLE IN ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING SEASON 4

The upcoming fourth season of Only Murders in the Building is taking a Hollywood twist. While the main plot of the new season remains a mystery, as it should be, the reason Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) are heading to Los Angeles was revealed in a teaser trailer last month. The trio is investigating the death of Charles’ stunt double and friend Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch) which leads them to a studio production of the Only Murders podcast and in that project, Eva Longoria is playing Mabel, Eugene Levy is playing Charles and Zach Galifianakis is playing Oliver. The new season also has Meryl Streep, Michael Cyril Creighton and Da’Vine Joy Randolph returning along with newcomers Melissa McCarthy, Molly Shannon, Kumail Nanjiani and Richard Kind. Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building premieres on August 27 via Hulu.Only Murders
JARED PADALECKI SET TO JOIN THE BOYS SEASON 5

Recently I joked that The Boys showrunner, Eric Kripke, would need to keep the series going long enough to get Jared Padalecki onto the show following the casting of Jensen Ackles and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Kripke was the creator of the 15-season running Supernatrual that featured Ackles and Padalecki as monster hunting brothers while Morgan played their father. My comment was before the announcement that a fifth and final season of The Boys had been greenlit ahead of the season four premiere. Turns out, that Padalecki has already been in talks to join the show and has said “yes”. The actor told Deadline: “We have talked [about a role]. As a matter of fact, we talked today. I think at this point in my acting life, I only want to work on projects that I really care about or with people that I really care about, and obviously Eric and I are indelibly connected forever.” Padalecki has some free time in his schedule since his recent CW series, Walker, was abruptly cancelled in May, so going back to work with Kripke was an obvious choice according to the actor. “I mean, he created Supernatural. He created Sam Winchester. He created Ruby [Genevieve Padalecki], who I ended up marrying and starting a family with. I adore him. I adore his humor. I adore him as a person, his storytelling. So I can’t wait. I don’t think [Season 5] films until next year, but I will be ready when he makes the phone call. I’ll just say ‘Okay, when am I flying out?'” Now the big question is, while season five include a return of Ackles as Soldier Boy so we can get a real Supernatural reunion?Jared Padalecki
NEW YORK CITY BRACES FOR A MUTANT EVOLUTION IN 'NYX'

Source: Marvel | Categories: NYX | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a Comment

In the wake of Krakoa, a group of former X-Men students must navigate young adulthood, discrimination, and threats bent on shattering human-mutant relations for good in NYX, a new ongoing series from hotshot writing duo Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing (Timeless, Alien: Black, White & Blood) and rising star artist Francesco Mortarino (Avengers, Cult of Carnage: Misery). This exciting new X-Men series set in the upcoming From the Ashes era kicks off on July 24 and today, fans can check out all the covers that will grace the highly anticipated debut issue. Like the groundbreaking original series, NYX won’t shy away from reflecting the harsh realities of life as a mix of iconic and fan-favorite mutants reenter a world filled with bigotry, mistrust, and misinformation. No longer under the X-Men’s guidance or Krakoa’s protection, Ms. Marvel, Wolverine, Sophie Cuckoo, Prodigy, Anole, and more must rise above the hate and division they encounter at work, school, and in their social lives by forging a new form of mutant community. But they aren’t the only ones looking to uplift mutantkind. As fans saw earlier this week in a foreboding teaser, a mutant called the Krakoan is twisting the dream of Krakoa to dominate the city! A former X-Man, fans will learn the Krakoan’s identity and meet his very powerful compatriots right in NYX #1. NYX #1’s covers are drawn by some of today’s most popular cover artists. Rickie Yagawa draws a striking group shot of the main cast while Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, Pablo Villalobos, Rogê Antônio, and veteran artist Todd Nauck deliver stunning images of Laura Kinney, aka Wolverine, who made her comic book debut in the original series and now brings the action to the title once again! A Logo Variant Cover is also available. “A lot of these [new] books, while there are some incredible solo titles, are X-team books,” Kelly said. “And they’re very much about X-Men solving X-Men problems. One of the things that we’re lensing in on is Yes, this is arguably a team, but they’re not a super hero team. They are a friendship, they are a community.” Check out the covers and preorder NYX #1 at your local comic shop today!
