Dynamite and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer products are excited to announce a huge new addition to the
ThunderCats mythos, with the introduction of a brand new character in issue #2!
A brand-new member is being added to the core cast by the creative team of Declan Shalvey and Drew Moss. Fans will get the chance to meet Calica early into the second issue, which arrives in stores March 13. A potential love interest for a Lion-O trying to mature and establish himself as a worthy leader, Calica's story could go any number of ways in the forthcoming chapters and story arcs...
"Not only has it been great to play with the classic
ThunderCats characters, having the opportunity to contribute to the lore has been a wonderful experience," said writer Declan Shalvey. "Especially with introducing Calica (and her unique, yet naturally fitting design courtesy of Drew Moss) who will add a new dynamic that will keep the ThunderCats (and readers) on their toes."
As her name may imply, this new young Thunderian is inspired by the appearance of Calico cats, with a tri-color fur pattern and a distinctive black patch around one of her eyes. She's found among the wreckage of a Mu'Tant ship. More of her backstory will be revealed in the issue and beyond for readers.
Alongside the character's first appearance, Dynamite will be unveiling a surprise second cover for the issue by series writer and superstar artist Declan Shalvey. Additionally, Dynamite fan-favorite Ken Haeser will be crafting a cover featuring Calica using a clever homage to one of the most powerful and influential women in comics. The design artwork by Drew Moss drafted in her creation will also be presented on a variant cover for fans. As the "Final Order Cutoff" approaches for the issue, Dynamite will be sharing further information.
ThunderCats #2 will be in stores March 13. It is written by Declan Shalvey, drawn by Drew Moss, colored by Arancia Studio, lettered by Jeff Eckleberry, and edited by Nate Cosby. In addition to the newly announced covers by Shalvey, Moss, and Ken Haeser, the issue features variant covers by David Nakayama, Lucio Parrillo, Jae Lee, Ivan Tao, and an action figure cover.
‘FINAL DESTINATION 6’ SETS SUMMER RELEASE, J.J. ABRAMS' ‘FLOWERVALE STREET’ DELAYED TO 202612/09/24 @ 12:06 pm EST
Source: Variety | Categories: MIsc | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentWarner Bros. has shuffled its film release schedule, planting “Final Destination: Bloodlines” on the calendar in summer and delaying the J.J. Abrams-backed mystery thriller “Flowervale Street” to 2026.
“Final Destination 6” will be released on May 16, 2025. It’s taking over the slot previously occupied by “Flowervale Street,” which was set for mid-May but has been pushed nearly a year to March 13, 2026. “Final Destination: Bloodlines” is the only major studio release on that date, but it will debut two weeks after Disney’s Marvel adventure “Thunderbolts” (May 2) and the week prior to Paramount’s “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” and Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch” (May 23).
“Final Destination: Bloodlines” will be directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein. It’s the first new installment in the franchise in 14 years, since 2011’s “Final Destination 5.” (via Variety)

The Boys Season 5, and showrunner Eric Kripke has previously confirmed that the fifth season will conclude the fan-favorite Prime Video series, aligning with the long-planned five-season arc. But although Seasons 1-4 were dark, Season 5 seems to be taking it to another level.
The first leaked set photos from Season 5 have sent fans into a frenzy. They offer a glimpse at a storyline that draws eerie parallels to historical atrocities. The images, shared by Sonya on X, depict "freedom camps" with a chilling sign that reads "Freedom sets you free," a nod to the infamous phrase associated with concentration camps in World War II.

GUNN ADDRESSES RUMORED SUPERMAN RESHOOTS12/08/24 @ 1:06 pm EST
Source: Heat Vision Newsletter | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentThe Hollywood Reporter has said, through their
Heat Vision Newsletter, that the upcoming
Superman movie “will be doing a few days of additional shooting in Los Angeles in the near term” following a recent test screening. And while it’s completely normal now for a film to do reshoots, these aren’t really reshooting. According to director
James Gunn when asked if the report was true, he said, “Sort of. Not a few days. We’re doing a day and a half of pickup shots. No scenes. No reshoots. Just a handful of individual shots to enhance the film.” Pickup shots are minor shots that are filmed after the main filming of a movie has ended. They are used in a variety of reasons including: filling in gaps, logistical connections, improving quality, experimentation, establishing shots, close ups and matching shots. These are usually planned and scheduled into production and a day and a half of pickup shots on a film this big is nothing.

Along with he slippers, one of the Wicked Witch’s Hat from the same collection also went up for auction, fetching $2.93 million.

Reacher season 3. The
Alan Ritchson lead action series will return to Amazon Prime on February 20th, 2025, and will be based on the
Lee Child novel,
Persuader. The series will put Reacher in the center of a vast criminal enterprise in hopes of rescuing an undercover DEA agent and catching a killer from his past. The cast for the new season includes
Anthony Michael Hall,
Sonya Cassidy,
Brain Tee,
Johnny Berchtold,
Robert Montesinos,
Daniel David Stewart and the extremely large
Olivier Richters who will play Paulie, an adversary that makes Reacher look small. The series continues to diverge from the novels with the return of
Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, one of the few recurring characters in the books but she does not appear in two of the three novels that the series had adapted so far. A spinoff series focused on Neagley is said to be in the works.
JAMES GUNN ON RYAN REYNOLDS RETURN TO THE DCU12/07/24 @ 9:19 am EST
Source: Happy Sad Confused Podcast | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentContext is everything… and sarcasm is hard to put into a sentence. On Thursday’s episode of the
Happy, Sad, Confused podcast,
James Gunn talked about all things DC Studios from the
Creature Commandos to
Superman. In the mix of talking about the upcoming HBO series
Lanterns, the host jokingly asked Gunn if that meant
Ryan Reynolds was not coming back to reprise his role as Hal Jordan from the 2011
Green Lantern film. Gunn responded, also jokingly, “Ryan doesn’t give a s#!t! One of the first people I talked to after I got the job was Ryan Reynolds. I was like, ‘You coming back?!’ He’s like, ‘Get the f#@k out of here!’” Now, listening to the podcast, it’s pretty obvious that this was not a real conversation. Did he talk to Reynolds? Probably. But I doubt that was the actual conversation. More likely Gunn giving a sarcastic answer to a sarcastic question. But that hasn't stopped multiple outlets treating this like it's a revelation.
FROM ROY KENT TO HERCULES TO HAGRID?12/07/24 @ 8:59 am EST
Source: Deadline | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentRumors are buzzing around like Golden Snitches as Warner Bros looks for their new cast for the new
Harry Potter television series. While there has been no news on the children’s roles, the faculty of Hogwart’s is getting a lot of attention with claims that
Paapa Essiedu is up to play Severus Snape,
Sharon Horgan to be the new Minerva McGonagall and both
Mark Rylance and
Mark Strong talked about for Albus Dumbledore. And while no official casting has been announced, the latest rumor has to do with Rubeus Hagrid, the character previously brought to life by the late
Robbie Coltrane. Word is that
Ted Lasso star
Brett Goldstein is up to play the gamekeeper, which will be the second powerful role the former Roy Kent would be playing after popping up in the MCU as Hercules in
Thor Love and Thunder. It may be awhile before we have any of these roles confirmed, as the series isn’t expected to debut until later 2026-2027, but that won’t stop sites from reporting the rumors.

Source: comicbook.com | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentAs the press tour for
Mafasa: The Lion King goes on, reporters are asking the film’s star,
Aaron Pierre, about another upcoming project, HBO’s
Lanterns. Back in October Pierre was announced as Green Lantern John Stewart alongside
Kyle Chandler who will be playing Hal Jordan in the upcoming series that takes the two intergalactic cops and has them trying to solve a murder mystery in the American Heartland. When asked about playing the role, Pierre told ComicBook.com: “What I can tell you is that the team are just super, super excited to have this opportunity to bring this story to the people. And, so far as I’m concerned, I’m gonna do my very best to serve and honor and elevate in any way I can, John Stewart and the [Green Lantern] Corps. Hopefully, I serve that and it resonates with me.” Filming of the series is expected to begin early in 2025.
‘ALTER EGO’ TURNS THE MAKING OF A SUPERHERO MOVIE INTO A THRILLER12/06/24 @ 9:38 pm EST
Source: Hollywood Reporter | Categories: MIsc | Comments (0) | E-mail Article | Add a CommentA superhero movie shelved for tax reasons. A disgraced director attempting a comeback. And a shady company rebooting a classic comic book hero. It all sounds very Hollywood 2024 — and that was one of the goals for Alex Segura with his new novel,
Alter Ego.
Alter Ego, which arrived Dec. 3 from publisher Flatiron, serves as what he calls a “standalone” sequel to his well-received 2022 novel
Secret Identity, which focused on comic book culture of the 1970s and chronicled the creation of a hero known as The Lynx. The new novel takes place decades later in the same world as
Secret Identity, but can be read on its own.
Alter Ego centers on Annie Bustamante, an acclaimed comic book artist and filmmaker who is sent into a tailspin when her new superhero movie gets shelved for tax reasons. She gets a lifeline when a mysterious company hires her to help reboot The Lynx comic and consult on the property (a disgraced filmmaker is directing a Lynx movie as part of a comeback attempt). Annie signs on, but she soon starts receiving messages from someone called Apparition, who warns she is in danger.
The novel took life after Flatiron editor Zack Wagman suggested Segura add a modern-day epilogue to
Secret Identity, which followed the 1970s exploits of comic book creator Carmen Valdez. (via The Hollywood Reporter)
