WAITING
FOR TOMMY: BOB MORALES
By
Richard Johnston Waiting
for Tommy Presents: The script for an unpublished Bob Morales/Kyle
Baker story for Vibe.
1. LONG
HORIZONTAL TITLE PANEL:
Close on the smirking, self-satisfied face of Stanton Tartarino.
TARTARINO:
My concept is a balls-out,
TITLE
(merges with word balloon):
TOTAL HOMZ II HOMBRE MAKEOVER! by Morales & Baker
MUCH OF
THE PAGE IS MOSTLY TILTED, ARTY CABINET OF DR CALIGARI–LIKE
PANELS.
2. Pull
back—
Now we can see Tartarino’s standing in a corporate boardroom,
maniacally addressing a group of suits from the head of a
conference table. We’re at an angle, able to see down
one side of the table.
CAPTION:
Inside Fetchit Records, where hot-shot filmmaker Stanton Tartarino
plans the most controversial music video ever—!
TARTARINO:
Slave auction! Mid-1800s! You guys’re decked out like
Kunta Kinte or the Incredible Hulk!
3. Reverse
angle:
Tartarino’s gleeful in f.g. In the b.g., we can see—seated
by him on the table’s other side—the four really
worried–looking members of Homz II Hombre. Hombre #1
is outraged, actually—his shoulders held down by two
of the others.
TARTARINO:
To keep the budget down, I’ll play the plantation owner
that buys you guys!
HOMBRE
#1: Now wait a minute—!
