WAITING FOR TOMMY: SEBASTIEN CLAVET
By Richard Johnston

RICHARD: So what now for 88MPH? More Ghostbusters I presume, but do you have other licences in mind? From anyone else but Disney?
SEBASTIEN
: I have about 10 other licenses I'd like to take a stab at, right now. Not all of them would make good ongoing series, but they could make awesome 4 issue mini-series or original graphic novels. At this time however, I'm not really pursuing them. I wish I could, I wish I had 10 employees to make these mini-series happen, but I don't.

The one big lesson I've taken from Tron is there's a difference between what I want, and what I can do. I want many other licenses, but right now I can't do them because I am just one guy. Some people have told me to hire a staff, grow and take them, but I'm holding off. All those licenses will be around for awhile, and I've learned how to approach a licensor and make sure any given project sees the light of day. What I haven't done is prove I can produce a great comic book, so that's what I'm focusing on.

Right now, Ghostbusters is my only concern. I am giving it 100% of my time and effort and will do everything I can to make it a success, both creatively and commercially. Once I've done that, I'll think about getting another licensed or doing an original book.

In short, quality over quantity.

RICHARD: So no licensing Mr T comics then? You people always spoil my fun.
