There's
something about the taboo, the unavailable that makes it particularly
enticing. And given that enticement, the market will form
their own ways of getting to the product overcoming whatever
barriers exist between the punter and the product. In the
UK, Viz Comic is a comedy
anthology comic magazine based on traditional British kids
characters. Expect that the likes of Dennis The Menace, Rodger
The Dodger, Desperate Dan and Minnie The Minx have been replaced
with Sid The Sexist, The Fat Slags, Tasha Slapper and Johnny
Fartpants. There's a Not For Sale To children on the front,
but it's still popular in the school playground. The barrier
of purchase is overcome by willingness.
