Spoiler warning here… but with his appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine, Wesley Snipes takes two records away from other Marvel actors according to the Guinness World Records. With his return as Blade, it marks 26 years since his first solo outing as the Daywalker, which beats out his co-star Hugh Jackman for the Longest Career as a Live-Action Marvel Character. A title Jackman was expected to finally hold on his own, passing Patrick Stewart. The second record Snipes now holds is Longest Gap Between Character Appearances, passing Alfred Molina at for his 17 years between Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home. And while many expect Jackman to return again for the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars, which would take that record back, Snipes should be able to retain the second one, at least for a while.

DuckTales — woo hoo! Dynamite Entertainment and Disney are excited to fully announce the heralded debut of an all-new DuckTales comic series inspired by the original animated show. It will star some of the most beloved characters across comics, animation, and beyond in their original medium for ongoing monthly adventures with best-selling, all-ages author Brandon Montclare (Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Rocket Girl) at the helm, with Italian virtuoso Tommaso Ronda bringing the fabulous four-color visuals.

Riches are everywhere, you just need to know where to look! The ridiculously wealthy Scrooge McDuck is the most famous resident of Duckburg, but his fortune goes beyond his infamous, jam-packed money vault that he loves swimming through. To the young Huey, Dewey, and Louie, their "Unca's" endless fountain of stories is worth more than any gold. And alongside him, they're always creating new memories and tales to tell. The opening story arc of the series is primarily focused on the "core four" of DuckTales and set in Duckburg, as they uncover the town's secrets - and secret treasures. Montclare's formatting of the stories will also intersperse flashback looks at some of Scrooge's past adventures across mysterious islands and other exotic locations, alongside allies and enemies like Launchpad, Glomgold, Webby, Gyro Gearloose, Magica De Spell, the Beagle Boys, and many more.


Montclare's ambitious story is matched by the vibrant artwork of Tommaso Ronda. Disney's comics and particularly those starring the ducks are known for featuring work by diverse creators from across the world. Ronda hails from Italy, a country with a deep roster of acclaimed Disney artists and continuing his own portfolio of drawing these characters. The creative team is rounded out by letterer Fabio Amelia. While editor Nathan Cosby keeps the ducks in order.

DuckTales #1 releases November 6, 2024 to treat fans with a special present ahead of the holiday season. It will feature a range of gorgeous covers from the likes of Ivan Bigarella, Francesco Tomaselli, Carlo Cid Lauro, and Alan Quah. Additionally, a classic piece of artwork from the Disney vaults is presented as a special variant cover.

The denizens of Duckburg's all-new adventures will primarily follow in the footsteps of the brilliant original DuckTales show that ran from 1987-1990 and imprinted on a generation of children across the world, and the next ones through reruns and reboots. The show heavily built on a long legacy of the Disney ducks in comic strips and books going back a whopping nine decades, and such legends as Carl Barks and Don Rosa inevitably influence Montclare and the team's approach as well.

Time Bandits‘ latest adventure has come to an end. Apple TV+ has opted not to renew the series adaptation of Terry Gilliam’s cult classic film for a second season. The news comes almost a month after the 10-episode first season of the fantasy series starring Lisa Kudrow ended its run, released in batches of two episodes weekly. The development is not entirely surprising. Despite the nostalgia factor and mostly favorable reviews (78% on Rotten Tomatoes), Time Bandits, created by Jemaine Clement, Iain Morris and Taika Waititi, did not attract large enough audience and was not able to crack Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming rankings. The cancellation ends a long journey that started more than six years ago when Apple TV+ acquired the rights to the beloved 1981 movie for a series adaptation produced by the now-defunct Paramount Television Studios, Anonymous Content’s AC Studios and MRC. In an interview with Collider to promote the upcoming HBO series The Penguin, The Batman director Matt Reeves shed some light on the progress of Season 2 of Batman: Caped Crusader and hinted at when fans can expect to see the next installment. When asked where they were in the process of the anticipated second season, executive producer Reeves explained that work is well underway. For those unaware, Caped Crusader is an animated noir-inspired take on the Batman story to air on Amazon's Prime Video, featuring a young Bruce Wayne taking on the mantle of the Dark Knight, drawing inspiration from the Batman stories published in the 1940s and '50s. But what about the timeline? Reeves said that while there are no concrete dates as yet for Season 2's arrival, 2025 does seem likely.

Global animation producer Superprod Animation and its Milan-based company Red Monk Studio have launched production on their new CG-animated series “Underdog,” a reimagining of the classic 1959 cartoon franchise. The series was commissioned by M6 and Gulli in France and RAI in Italy. This new version of “Underdog” will feel familiar to fans of the 1960s original that endured in syndication for decades across networks including NBC, CBS and Nickelodeon. Superprod and Red Monk will produce 52 11-minute episodes of the new series, which will be aimed at kids and family audiences and follow the crimefighting antics of Underdog, a clumsy but well-meaning superhero in an oversized suit and cape. Studiocanal has released fresh images of Dougal Wilson’s upcoming Paddington In Peru ahead of its theatrical launch in the UK in November. The movie sees Paddington embark on an adventure with his beloved U.K. guardians, the Brown Family, through the Amazon rainforest and the mountain peaks of Peru, as he returns home to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now resides at the Home for Retired Bears. Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas have joined the cast as the new characters of The Reverend Mother, a smiling, guitar-playing nun who runs the Home for Retired Bears, and Hunter Cabot, a dashing and intrepid riverboat captain who offers to help the Brown family on their Peruvian adventure. The movie opens in cinemas in the U.K. on November 8, followed by theatrical releases worldwide including in the U.S. via Sony on January 17, 2025. (via Deadline)

Were you surprised to see Knull, the eldritch god of darkness that created the alien symbiotes in the Marvel Universe, as the main villain in the Venom: The Last Dance trailer? So were Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman, the writer and artist who created the character for the comics. Stegman was the first to tweet out, saying: “Yes, I did co-create Knull. No, I didn’t know until today that he was gonna be in Venom: The Last Dance. Yes, I do expect to finally be able to afford that lazy river moat around my house.” While Cates took a simpler approach, posting an image of the word MONEY done in the same logo font as the film and the simple message, “lol”. Historically the deals for creators weren’t great when it came to the characters being adapted to other media, but with Knull being created in 2018, it is possible their contracts addressed this likelihood since the MCU had been around ten years by then. The third and final Tom Hardy led Venom film is slated to be in theaters October 25th.
