According to Marvel, there is a "moment in Astonishing X-Men #50 that will have everyone talking!" Astonishing X-Men is written by Marjorie Liu with art by Mike Perkins. This creative team began with issue #48 which was described as being the "first chapter of what will be the most controversial story of 2012."  The big moment in Astonishing X-Men #50 has been teased to revolve around a marriage proposal; however, the exact details remain a secret. Much of this speculation developed after the "Save the Date" teaser for Astonishing X-Men #51.
