DYNAMIC FORCES AND MoCCA ANNOUNCE SECOND FUNDRAISER!
New Online Drive to Coincide With Forbes Gala.
September
5, 2003, Runnemede, NJ – Lawrence Klein, Chairman of
the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art (www.moccany.org)
and Nick Barrucci, President of Dynamic Forces, Inc. (www.dynamicforces.com)
have announced a second online fundraiser, following the first
successful collaboration between the two partners.
“In the beginning of August, through our first initiative,
we were able to raise over $1600.00 for MoCCA, and we’re
set to beat that with a second online drive in September,”
said Nick Barrucci. “We timed our first effort in conjunction
with the presentation of the Harvey Awards, and for our second
outing, we’re backed by the “Living Masters”
event in association with Christopher Forbes, which promises
to truly raise the presence and awareness of MoCCA.”
The second online fundraising drive is set for September 12,
2003, and will run until September 19, 2003. As with the previous
effort, Dynamic Forces will be donating 10% of all sales generated
through their online site (www.dynamicforces.com), directly
back to MoCCA.
”Just like in comics, when you have a team-up that works
and the fans demand, you have every reason to keep it going,”
said Klein. “‘Living Masters’ features nearly
one hundred classic works by Robert Crumb, Bill Plympton,
Frank Miller and more under one roof for the first time. The
exhibit will bring unprecedented national exposure to MoCCA,
and the timing is perfect to enhance the event with the second
Dynamic Forces drive.”
LIVING MASTERS celebrates the full diversity of comic and
cartoon art as work from the greatest living practitioners
of comic books, comic strips, animation and political cartooning
joins the Fabergé Easter eggs and other incredible
artworks on display at the Forbes Gallery. The exhibit opens
to the public at The Forbes Galleries, located at the magazine's
headquarters at 60 Fifth Avenue (corner of 12th street) in
New York City on September 15 and runs through October 25th,
2003. A gala black tie fundraiser and reception, hosted by
Christopher Forbes and Lawrence Klein and emceed by comedienne
Joan Rivers, will be held at the Forbes Galleries on the evening
of September 23rd. Aside from the online fundraising efforts,
Dynamic Forces and MoCCA are exploring the creation of a boutique
on the MoCCA site to feature Dynamic Forces lithographs, comics,
statues, busts and more.
“We’re continuing to look at other ways to support
MoCCA,” explained Barrucci. “The success of the
first drive, and the anticipated success of the second, are
all just the beginning!”
