‘Wesley’ Wants Willow on Angel
by Bob Gough

Alex Denisof (Wesley on Angel) is hoping to convince his new bride Alyson Hannigan to return soon as Willow on Angel.

"Yeah, I'd love to get Aly back over here," he told Sci Fi Wire. "It was so much fun when she visited us last year. I mean, not just because she's a huge talent, but because I love her and I would like to have her here with me at work."

It’s a matter of timing, he said. “I think they've been clever about bringing characters from Buffy over here, in the sense that ... they've been smart not to just give away Angel and have it become sort of a tour bus for the Buffy characters.

Uma Plays Nice in Paycheck
by Bob Gough

Unlike her take-no-prisoners character from Kill Bill, Uma Thurman’s part in Paycheck is more sedate. "I got to play the girl," Thurman told Sci Fi Wire. "I had a really nice time. [Star] Ben [Affleck] did all the heavy lifting. I got to watch [director] John Woo work. Ben hit people. I wasn't covered in blood."

Static Shock, Astro Boy Updates
by Bob Gough

Warning: Spoilers

Static Shock returns and Astro Boy debuts on the Kids’ WB Saturday, Jan. 17.

Static Shock creator Dwayne McDuffie sent Comic Reel the above promo image from next season which shows Static with Batman Beyond, Robin, Commissioner Gordon and the elder Bruce Wayne. It’s not likely all of these characters will appear in the same episode.

The Kids’ WB describes Static Shock season 4 as:
"Action abounds in the fourth season of Static Shock as Static and Gear unearth an underground group of metahumans whose exposure to sunlight can be fatal, help African superhero Anansi protect the secret of his power, save a gifted young athlete from the criminal clutches of a powerful supervillain, get jolted into a face off with the Green Lantern, who may have gone renegade, and discover that world famous NBA All-Stars have a super secret of their own. The captivating season premiere takes Static on an electrifying adventure into the future as he teams up with Batman to save his adult Static-self."

Static Shock will also join the weekday line-up starting Monday, Jan. 5 at 3:30 pm ET.

Meanwhile, Astro Boy is described as:
"The classic icon of Japanese animation, based on the original manga character from the popular comic book series launched in the 1950s, ASTRO BOY tells the story of youthful, atomic-powered robot, Astro. A reluctant superhero fighting for justice and peace for humans and robots alike, Astro possesses awesome abilities and a highly advanced artificial brain. Termed kokoro in Japanese, Astro is able experience all of the same emotions as humans. Mankind's only hope to surviving the onslaught of rebellious robots is a robot himself...the fearless, selfless, incorruptible champion known as Astro."

Astro Boy will air Saturdays at 8:30 am ET followed by Teen Titans at 9 am.

How Did Clark Kent Get So Cool?
by Bob Gough

Smallville star Tom Welling is wondering what changed to turn Clark Kent from high school zero to hero.

"At the beginning of the show, Clark didn't even talk," Welling told Sci Fi Wire, "He was kind of a geek. Now, somehow, without any sort of obvious transition, he's this guy who's cool and hangs out with everybody. I'm not sure how that happened, but it did."
