IDW Publishing and SEGA (R) of America are proud to announce the Team Sonic Racing comic book, a one-shot special arriving October 2018. Following hot on the heels of IDW’s fan-favorite Sonic The Hedgehog (TM) series, the events of the Team Sonic Racing comic will lead directly into the highly-anticipated video game that arrives this winter!SHREDDER IN HELL EXPLORES THE SINISTER FORCES BEHIND THE IDW TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES UNIVERSE07/19/18 @ 7:51 pm EST
Sonic and his teammates Knuckles and Tails journey to a new planet and enter a race unlike any other! With a little help from friends like Amy Rose, Big the Cat, and a few other familiar faces, Sonic must race to prevent an old foe from obtaining a powerful new technology in this story by writer Caleb Goellner (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and longtime Sonic The Hedgehog artist Adam Bryce Thomas.
“I'm so stoked to write Sonic! It's been a dream of mine ever since my dad surprised me with my first Sonic comic in ’92, so I can’t wait for fans to take this issue for a Spin Dash,” says Caleb Goellner. “It’s been an honor to be on a team working to deliver an issue that’s as fun to read as Team Sonic Racing is to play.”
Adam Bryce Thomas says, “I’m thrilled to be part of IDW’s newest comic project. Illustrating action packed scenes is my go-to for Sonic, so what could be better than our rival teams jockeying for position? SEGA is known for its phenomenal racing titles and I'll be doing my best to bring comic fans the breakneck speed and excitement they expect.”
“There’s a lot to be thrilled about with Team Sonic Racing,” says associate editor David Mariotte. “The game exemplifies a lot of what's best about Sonic—naturally, there’s action, speed, and style, but there’s also teamwork and Big the Cat. Adam and Caleb do a great job of translating all of that into one of the best-looking, most fun comics we’ll see all year.”

IDW is proud to announce that acclaimed TMNT artist Mateus Santolouco will both write and draw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder in Hell, a five-issue miniseries slated to debut in early 2019 that serves as a sequel to the fan-favorite Secret History of the Foot Clan storyline.LION FORGE TO PUBLISH MAIA KOBABE'S GENDERQUEER: A MEMOIR07/19/18 @ 7:49 pm EST
Shredder in Hell, the latest chapter in IDW’s groundbreaking TMNT saga, sinks into the nightmarish pits of the afterlife, where the infamous leader of the Foot Clan struggles to survive. In the process, Shredder discovers his true purpose… as well as the origins of the great beings responsible for both destruction and creation in his world.
“I'm very humble and thankful to help expand the rich universe of TMNT, adding new layers to the Turtles' main villain,” says Santolouco. “We’re not only revealing Shredder's role in a conspiracy of divine proportions, but we'll have a better understanding of his fears and ambitions. Oroku Saki is more human than ever… and this will only make him an even stronger force for the TMNT to face.”
Group Editor Bobby Curnow says, “Shredder in Hell is in many ways a spiritual sequel to the beloved Secret History of the Foot Clan. There’s one crucial difference: whereas before Mateus was just coming into his own as a creator, he is now, five years later, working at a master class level. The art he is producing is unreal, and the story is surprisingly deep and reaches to the core of IDW’s TMNT universe."

Ahead of tomorrow’s Lion Forge–sponsored “Diversity and Inclusivity” panel at Comic-Con International, the company announces plans to publish cartoonist Maia Kobabe’s Gender Queer: A Memoir
in spring of next year.
Maia Kobabe (who uses the pronouns e/em/eir) started Gender Queer Comics
as a way to explain to eir family what it means to be nonbinary and asexual. What e has created, however, is much more than just a personal story (though it is that), but a useful and touching guide to advocates, friends, and humans everywhere on genderqueer identity—what it means and how to think about it.
“I built the outline of this book by paging through fourteen years of high school and college journals and pulling out everything I felt like I could never say. I spent years confused by gender, feeling trapped between two poles, always longing for a third option” says Maia Kobabe. “When I finally came out as nonbinary to my family their response was “we love you, we support you, but we don’t really understand what you are talking about”. In many ways this book is an extended letter to them about how my experience of gender has always been nonbinary, long before I had words to explain it. I hope other nonbinary people read it and see a reflection of their own experiences. Almost more so, I hope that the communities around nonbinary people- co-workers, teachers, families, friends- read this book and are able to understand their loved ones better.”
“Maia’s touching and unflinching memoir is required reading for everyone who has ever discovered they are not quite the person everyone around them thinks they are, and for those of us who want to understand that experience,” says Andrea Colvin, editor in chief of Lion Forge. “Maia spares no detail in this deeply affecting account of eir search for eir true gender expression, even when that expression turns out to be something e had not realized was possible.” Gender Queer: A Memoir
is another important addition to the catalog of the publisher that promises “comics for everyone,” documenting Maia’s journey of self-discovery and burgeoning confidence to tell the world who e really is. The book offers a deeply personal but also universal account of coming to terms with what it truly means to be the person you were born to be. Gender Queer: A Memoir
will release in May of 2019.
